In this episode, Brian shares a beer with CFA Doug Motley of Jack Lingo Asset Management.
Prior to entrepreneurship, Doug got his start like many Delawareans — by attending the University of Delaware and then “bleeding green” by working his way through corporate banking at MBNA. Around the time MBNA was being purchased by Bank of America — and with the infinite wisdom of a 26 year old — Doug knew there had to be more for him than the corporate banking world. And then one day, drinks with a friend led to a connection that changed the trajectory of his life. From commercial to first and second residential homes, Doug shares his path to entrepreneurship.
A lot has happened since then, including the community service work with The Boys and Girls Club of Delaware; Doug has helped them raise over one million dollars!
Through his work, Doug is helping remove the stereotype “Slower Lower” from the rural backwood areas of Southern DE by blending science and art.
